Nadin Geisler, Sentenced to 22 Years for Helping Ukrainian Refugees, Is Losing Her Health in Prison

Nadin Geisler was sentenced to 22 years in a Russian penal colony for helping Ukrainian refugees. Since her imprisonment, her health has sharply deteriorated: she has developed tachycardia, her vision has worsened, and she suffers from severe migraines. Despite these symptoms, she has not been provided with adequate medical care.

«I poured cold water on my head and held a wet towel to it. It felt like everything inside was boiling, and with the slightest movement it was as if a sledgehammer hit my skull. It was unbearable,» she wrote in one of her letters, later published by the media.

Before the war, Nadin worked as a photographer and rescued stray animals. After the full-scale invasion, she founded her own volunteer initiative known as the «Beauty Army», supporting Ukrainian civilians fleeing the war.

We are collecting signatures to include Nadin Geisler in a humanitarian prisoner exchange. She has German roots, and we intend to submit the petition to the German authorities.

We believe that public attention and international pressure can help draw focus to her case — and potentially lead to her release.
